August 18th 2020 @ 15:00: Fleet Ramblings

18/8/2020

Stagecoach Cumbria
& North Lancashire

The days of the Dart SLF here appear to be numbered with just two examples currently operational - 34719 and 34801 at Kendal.
All other Dart SLFs are out of service and are expected to be officially withdrawn and put up for disposal later in the year. 34719 and 34801 remain in service as cover at Kendal, including for the current Enviro 200 and Optare Solo repaint programme.
Also currently out of use are the remaining closed-top Tridents here. The majority are expected to return to service at the start of the School term next month although 18327/28/30/80/81/82 are likely to remain in the Reserve Fleet in the short term.
At Carlisle Optare Versa 25221 is now withdrawn, joining 25216 and 25219
MAN/Enviro 300 now sports Stagecoach ‘Local’ livery as does 24117 and Optare Solo 47140.
The main Lakes seasonal services are now operating which has seen Optare Solo SRs 48001/02 take up their duties on the 77 routes based on Kendal.
One change here with the post-COVID lockdown services  has been the substitution of vehicle types on several services with ADL Enviro 400MMCs and Enviro 300s seeing use on the X4 and X5 Workington-Keswick-Penrith services.

Volvo B8RLE 21303, which had been on loan at Bedford for the X5 and 99 services, returned to Fenstanton depot on 11thAugust and was in service on Busway duties on 17th August.
At Cambridge Licenced Reserve Fleet Enviro 300 27853 is back in service although 27854 does not appear to have re-entered service there and remains in the licenced Reserve Fleet.
Bedford-allocated Enviro 200MMC 37431 has been at Peterborough for maintenance. Over the last few months several Bedford and Cambridge-based vehicles have received engineering attention in the workshop at Peterborough.
We understand that limited driver training has resumed here.
