✤Stagecoach East Optare Solo SR 48036 is the first of the type at Bedford to lose Coasthopper livery having been repainted in the green-based livery with ‘Greener Smarter Travel’ branding. It is understood that a Volvo B11R/Plaxton elite from the Megabus fleet at Rugby (Stagecoach Midlands) is due at Bedford on loan to cover a modification programme on the Volvo B9R/Plaxton Panther coaches used on the X5 Cambridge-Bedford-Oxford route. Parked up at Bedford unserviceable is the CPC training Dart SLF 34419, whilst also parked up awaiting repairs is Dart SLF 34826. We are able to confirm that Dart SLF 34430 is awaiting disposal at Bedford. It was never transferred to Long Sutton as planned in April and 34426 was subsequently transferred in its place. We understand that Optare Solo SRs will be used on Bedford’s service 8 from January allowing older Solos 47351/52/54 and 47435 to be stood down from use for either disposal or return to Bedfordshire County Council (47435). We understand that MAN/ALX300 training bus 22141, which is on loan from Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire and currently at Peterborough, is no longer required here and is expected to be returned to Carlisle.
