Its been a quiet week for information but look out for Stagecoach East transferring Enviro 400s 10012/13 back to Peterborough from Bedford with 19892/93 being transferred from Peterborough to Bedford. 10012/13 were originally Peterborough vehicles but due to them having tachographs fitted were moved to Bedford to allow use on the X5 Cambridge-Oxford service. Now the X5 is operated under domestic driving regulations the use of techograph-fitted vehicles is no longer a requirement.
The Managing Director of Stagecoach Midlands, Steve Burd, has advised us that restoration of Routemaster 12738 (RML2738) at Rugby is now complete and it has joined the fleet of heritage vehicles that are available for hire.
It has been suggested to us that some of the Reserve Fleet Dart SLFs at Stagecoach West may be used during the March race meeting in Cheltenham - confirmation is awaited. Despite being allocated on paper the recently transferred Dart SLFs, Optare Versa and MAN/ALX300s has yet to enter service at their nominated depots by last weekend.
Stagecoach Midlands are planning changes to their X46/X47 Stagecoach Gold services from next month. The route will operate from Northampton to Raunds with only peak hour extensions to Thrapston. Currently most services operate through to Thrapston. This is expected to result in a reduced vehicle requirement.
Stagecoach Yorkshire was due to return Gold-spec Sacnia/Enviro 400 15196 to Stagecoach Midlands at Northampton yesterday with standard-spec Scania/Enviro 400 15829 returning from Northampton to Chesterfield.
