July 29th 2019 @ 12:00: Further details of Trident transfers to Stagecoach Manchester and fleet change round-up at Go North East

The influx of tridents to this fleet has now started with 18372 and 18440/41/42 moving from the Stagecoach Merseyside & South Lancashire fleet last week. Also transferred from Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire last Thursday was 18361.
A further six Tridents have now been identified for transfer here from Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire - 18325/26/27/58/60/65.

The Go North East website reports repaints in week ending July 28th 2019 included Optare Solo M880/Optare 702 into ‘Little Coasters’ livery and Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicitys 5268 /69 into the 2019 fleet livery. 
An outstanding transfer from last week was Optare Solo M890/Optare 647 which) has transferred from Consett to Deptford, releasing similar 650 to Percy Main. 
Chester Road at Bournmoor will be closed westbound (towards Chester-le-Street) from Monday 29 July until Friday 27 September to allow for road reconstruction and utility works in conjunction with the new housing development at this location. During this closure; Services 4, 78 & 78A will be unable to serve Bournmoor (4, 78 & 78A) or Fence Houses (4) in a southerly direction. As such; a shuttle bus will be in operation, run from Washington Depot. Optare Solo M890/Optare 724 will be the vehicle allocated, so this bus has transferred from Percy Main Depot to Washington. 
Scania L94UB/Wright Solars 4932/69 have been withdrawn from service at Deptford. The former will be sold for scrap, but the latter is expected to be sold on for further use. 
Repaints during week ending July 21st 2019 included Optare Solo M880/Optare 701 into ‘Little Coasters’ livery, and the final ‘Whey Aye Five 0’ branded Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity, 5259 into the 2019 fleet livery. A number of the buses which were repainted into the 2016 fleet livery, but not fitted with advert frames, are due to return for repaint in the coming weeks to have these fitted, and will also receive a partial repaint into the 2019 fleet livery for consistency. 
A large number of vehicle movements have taken place in line with the start of the school holidays. Summarised below: 
With surplus double-decks now being available at Deptford, East Lancs OmniDekka bodied Scania N94UDs 6126/27/29 have returned to Riverside, enabling Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TLs 9072/73/74 to be withdrawn. 
Whilst building and facilities work is being carried out at Washington Depot, the operation of the Miscellaneous Works and additional peak-time commercial services that the depot operates, has transferred to Deptford. Along with this work, Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs 3962/63/64 have transferred to Deptford, as well as Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro 5487/
Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4932 has transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Deptford, as a replacement vehicle for Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 5201 which has been withdrawn from service.
Wright Streetlite DF/Wright Streetlite Max Micro-Hybrid 5420 has transferred to Deptford in a float/reserve capacity over the summer holidays, and Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 5215 has been withdrawn as a consequence. 
The reduction in service levels on ‘Toon Link’ service 6 saw the transfer of Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5250 to Chester-le-Street. 
Service changes in the Stanley area saw the transfer of Optare Solo M890/Optare 648 from Consett to Deptford and Optare Solo M880/Optare 697 to Riverside.  651 transferred from Deptford to Percy Main as a result, with Scania CN230UBScania Omnicity 5267/68 transferring to Chester- le-Street in lieu. 
The loss of the contract to operate service 5 between Jarrow and North Shields saw the transfer of Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5262 from Washington to Chester-le-Street.
