All 12 of the Gold ADL/E400MMC have now arrived at Cheltenham. We can confirm they are 10749-60 (SN66 VXT-Z, SN66 VYA-E). They have real leather dark blue coach seats with white headrests and increased leg room, laminated floors, WiFi and individual USB ports. They are due to enter service on 19th November on Service 94 (the main Cheltenham to Gloucester route), with an official launch in Cheltenham on the previous day. However, all were used at some point on the 11th and 12th November on the Cheltenham Races services, even though branding hasn’t been completed yet. These buses will replace the original batch of Gold Scania/E400 at Cheltenham, 15521-15532. These are currently being repainted, still in Gold livery. So far done are 15521-29. Six will move to Gloucester for Service 97/98, the other six to Stroud for Service 63.
Other buses of note in use at the Races were West’s final three Races Reserve Olympians, 16099, 16128 and 16759 and heritage Bristol VRT 19950, plus four Olympians borrowed from Stagecoach South, 16302/5 (Alexander) and 16624/28 (Northern Counties). There is a possibility the West Olympians will be used for a final time at the Cheltenham Race Meeting on 9/10th December, but as this is only a small meeting their use is not guaranteed. After that, they will be withdrawn. The two Solos recently transferred from Stagecoach Midlands, 47046 and 47069, have entered service at Swindon on new tendered Service 4. 47046 has been repainted from Corby Star orange into corporate livery and both carry Service 4 branding.
