Dave Russell & Deric Pemberton report that Dart SLF 34617 has arrived with Stagecoach West and is being prepared for service. It came from Stagecoach South but is understood not to have been used whilst there. This last weekend was the second biggest meeting in the Cheltenham Races calendar, The Open, and as well as using five of its own Reserve Fleet Volvo Olympians, Stagecoach West borrowed a further eight from Stagecoach South, 16291/5, 16523/5/90, 16627, 16748/69. Other vehicles borrowed were Enviro 200 10070 and Enviro 200 6983 from Stagecoach Oxfordshire and Scania/Enviro 400 15561 along with Tridents 17057, 18064 from Stagecoach South West. In addition, Stagecoach West used its own Bristol VRT 19950, plus two privately owned ones VDV122/34S, which were in Southern National livery.

News from Stagecoach South Wales is that the delivery of 15 new Enviro 300s to ‘Stagecoach Gold’ specification are imminent. The company reports that 27273-87 will carry registrations SN65ODP/R/S/T/U/V/W/X/Y, SN65OEA/B/C/D/E/F. Dart SLF 34746 used as cover for the paint programme has been transferred to Aberdare. Dart 34555 is now in the main fleet at Blackwood and similar 34622 on the allocation at Merthyr where it has replaced 34348 which has become the Merthyr Staff Shuttle vehicle. Former Merthyr Staff Shuttle 34195 is now for disposal along with MAN/MCV 39619 from the Reserve Fleet. Sold to Chepstow Classic Bus are MAN/East Lancs 39607-09.
