Stagecoach Midlands has confirmed that it is expecting a 'Gold Standard' Scania/Enviro 400 from this year's order. Fleet number details are not available but the bus will be allocated to Northampton depot and will join similar vehicles on the X46/X47 group of services.
Bids are currently being made by Stagecoach UK Bus subsidiaries for new vehicles for delivery in 2015/16. It is understood that around 30 new vehicles are being sought by Stagecoach Midlands. The company is also looking for three cascaded Tridents from London in the 2015/16 financial year. They will be for conversion to Open Top to replace three Volvo Olympians used on the Stratford-upon-Avon City Sightseeing services.
Following completion of the Selby Swing Bridge repairs, and re-opening of the railway line, the rail replacement service operated by East Yorkshire Motor Services has finished. Look out for a reduction in the fleet which is likely to see serveral Volvo Olympians taken out of service.
